Minutes From IGA's Biennial General Meeting

29 May 2020

A note from our Chair:

Thank you to all those who attended the IGA’s Biennial General Meeting on the 23rd of May, 2020. It was our pleasure to see all of you virtually and we appreciate that you decided to spend Saturday evening with your Gaucher friends. Your enthusiasm and contribution is a huge part of the IGA’s work. The minutes of the General Members Meeting are available here

We are grateful that we had excellent speakers and a wonderful meeting with helpful discussions. Prof. Pramod Mistry gave a very detailed presentation about clinical trials, that Tanya Collin-Histed, our CEO, continued with an update on ongoing clinical trials specific to Gaucher disease. And we had the opportunity to have Dr Derralynn Hughes, Chair of the EWGGD, to speak about what is happening with the EWGGD, what are the new activities, how is the web site changing, how the structure of the EWGGD is changing, and upcoming events. She also talked about COVID-19 and Gaucher disease and answered some of your questions related to this topic.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or issues that you did not raise at the meeting.

Please let us know if you are interested in the Gene Therapy initiative that Tanya spoke about and if you have additional questions about it do not hesitate to email tanya@gaucheralliance.org .

The IGA continues to move forward towards a better future for Gaucher patients and families.  Do not forget that together we are stronger.

The IGA board is looking forward to meeting you all again in the future and hopefully in a face-to-face meeting where we can be together, discuss and exchange experiences, and build a future together. In the meantime stay safe and spend more time with your families.
