RSS is a way to distribute frequently updated content, such as news articles or blog posts, from a website in a standardised way. It allows subscribers to receive updates from the site directly to an RSS reader, eg. an email client, web brower or feed aggigator like iGoogle when new content appears.
Depending on your browser and how you want to view RSS feeds, you can simply click on an RSS feed link to see the options for saving the feed. If you want to save a feed into Outlook or Mail, for instance, you may need to follow one of the procedures below:
In Outlook, right click the RSS folder
Click 'Add a New RSS Feed...'
Paste the RSS feed URL into the box
Click 'Add'
The feed will appear under the RSS section of the sidebar
In Mail, click 'File > Add RSS Feeds...' from the menu
Select 'Specify the URL for a feed' and paste the RSS feed URL into the box
Click 'Add'
The feed will appear under the RSS section of the sidebar
