We are delighted to announce that on the 27th October the International Gaucher Alliance was granted Charity status by the Charity Commission of England and Wales and has been entered onto the Register of Charities with the Registered Charity Number 1192011.
Since its inception the IGA, previously the European Gaucher Alliance, has been a not for profit organisation, serving the needs of our global community with all funds supporting unmet needs as outlined in our strategy, that was developed with our community and partners.
We are extremely proud of be awarded charity status and would like to thank our members for supporting us in this process by positively voting for the changes to our Articles of Association and Objects; these changes were structural only and will not change the way the IGA operates and serves its community.
This new charity status will support our efforts to access other funding streams and services which will only enhance how we can continue our work to serve the needs of our global community. You will see no changes in the way we operate but we will wear our new charity badge with pride!
