Celebrating 30 years of patient advocacy – Reminiscences
from three people who were there at the beginning

Our Honorary President Jeremy Manuel hosts a chat with Prof. Hans Aerts, an eminent scientist in the field of Gaucher disease, and Dr. David Meeker, formerly of Genzyme, the maker of the first enzyme replacement treatment for Gaucher disease.

30 years in 30 seconds

In 2024, the IGA is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a variety of initiatives and activities throughout the year.

As part of our celebrations, we asked people who have been involved with the IGA and its predecessors over the years to send us short videos with reminiscences and highlights from their experiences. These videos are posted on this page, and we will also use them to create a longer video for International Gaucher Day.

Enjoy!
