Job opportunity: IGA Operations Officer
The IGA are looking to recruit an Operations Officer to support the operational aspects of the IGA whilst ensuring the IGA works within our work programme and strategic plan, reporting to the CEO
The Operations Officer strengthens the IGA’s ability to fulfil its vision, mission, and objectives by personally embodying and articulating the vision and by developing, implementing, reviewing, and revising strategies alongside other staff members and the board of directors; to achieve the IGA goals towards better quality of life of patients with Gaucher disease.
The role is 28 hours per week, Monday to Thursday. The start date is 1st July 2024.
The wage is £15.73 per hour
This is a fixed term position for the period of one year.
The main responsibilities of the job include:
– Finance, including creating and monitoring budgets alongside the CEO, invoicing, working with the accountants to develop the annual accounts, sit on the finance committee, etc.
– Governance, including helping to develop and update policies and procedures, be responsible for the GDPR of the organisation, sit on the Governance committee and ensure all policies are signed where necessary.
– Meeting planning, including both online and in person meetings, assisting with booking travel and accommodation, organising meeting rooms and assisting with technology.
– General administration, including answering emails and calls, forward contact requests to the relevant parties, provide administrative support to other staff and Board members, ensure all filing is organised, keep on track of legal requirements, and ensure they are done in an accurate and timely manner.
– Working on projects, including leading projects such as the IGA’s Biennial meeting, ensuring budgets and cost sheets are accurate and up to date, creating and sending surveys to our members, etc.
In order to apply for the post, the applicant:
– Must have an experience of the rare disease environment and knowledge of challenges of people living with rare disease.
– Must live in the Southwest of the UK, no more than one hour from Dursley. This ensures the applicant can maintain contact and relationship with the CEO and remain responsible for the IGA’s Stonehouse based storage unit.
– Should be comfortable working from home
– Be able to work evenings and weekends when required.
– Be able to travel outside of the UK for work.
